Wishart Counseling & Coaching is a boutique, nearly all cash-pay practice serving high-performing professionals across North Carolina, South Carolina, and Tennessee via secure telehealth and a stylish Charlotte office. We’re expanding and will guarantee regular referrals to an LCMHC, LCSW, LMFT, or associate-level clinician who loves deep clinical work without agency bureaucracy and wants to gradually build their career as a private practice therapist. 

 

While a fully licensed clinician is preferred, associate-licensed applicants are also welcome to apply.

As with most personal and professional relationships, we focus on finding the right cultural fit for our practice. Because we’ve earned a reputation for high-quality care and strong referral sources, candidates move through a brief but multi-step process to confirm fit.

What We Provide

- Optional weekly case consultation

Compensation  

- 65 % split (fully licensed) · 60 % split (associate)  

- Session fees $120–$190 → your share $72–$123  

- 25 sessions/week = $93,000–$159,000  

- 35 sessions/week = $130,000–$223,000  

- No unpaid admin hours — if we don’t get paid, you don’t work

**Contractor retains full control over schedule, treatment approach, and work location within licensure laws.**

Job Title: LCMHC / LCSW / LMFT– Outpatient Therapist Tele-Health / Hybrid (1099)

 

Position Description: This position is responsible for providing culturally competent outpatient counseling to individuals, couples and families. The therapist will build strong therapeutic rapport with clients, offer evidence-based treatment, and maintain comprehensive documentation according to legal, ethical, and professional guidelines.

 

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

Provide Therapy Services:
- Provide high-quality individual, couple, or family therapy within your scope of practice.
- Offer specialized treatment for couples therapy.
- Utilize evidence-based interventions to address mental health and addiction issues.
-  You will be responsible for providing your own malpractice insurance, computer, and phone.

Documentation and Billing:
- Contractor agrees to complete all required clinical documentation (e.g., progress notes, treatment plans) within 48 hours of service- our simple templates make it fast and easy.
- Contractor agrees to collect and record client payments accurately and enter them into the EHR within 24 hours of each session.
- Contractor agrees to maintain case files in the Electronic Health Record (EHR) in compliance with HIPAA and confidentiality standards.

Case Management and Collaboration:
- Provide case management services as clinically indicated, coordinating with other healthcare providers and referring clients to community resources when appropriate.
- You may maintain regular communication with team members and supervisors to ensure coordinated care and a positive clinical environment.
- Optional: You may participate in case consultations and clinic meetings.

Professional Conduct:
- Adhere to all legal, ethical, and professional standards (e.g., HIPAA, board regulations).

Requested Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities

Clinical Expertise:
- Familiarity with family systems and their impact on mental health.
- Ability to apply varied interventions for individuals/couples/families in crisis.
- Sound clinical judgment and ethical decision-making.

Communication & Interpersonal Skills:
- Excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to engage diverse populations.
- Strong oral and written communication skills in English.
- Ability to collaborate effectively with clients, coworkers, and other professionals.

Cultural Competency:
- Skill in working respectfully with individuals from varying cultural backgrounds.
- Awareness of community resources and appropriate referral sources.

Organization & Time Management:
- Capable of working independently and managing a caseload efficiently.
- Able to complete documentation and billing tasks within established deadlines.

Technical Proficiency:
- Comfortable operating basic office equipment (copier, scanner, telephone).
- Proficient in (or willing to learn) EHR systems, Google Docs, and other relevant software.

Teamwork & Professionalism:
- Demonstrated ability to function as a positive member of a clinical team.
- Open to feedback, teachable, and willing to learn new techniques and skills.

 

Education and Experience Requirements

Degree & Licensure:
- Master’s or doctoral degree in a mental health-related field (Psychology, Counseling, Marriage and Family Therapy, Social Work, or related).
- Active licensure in the State of North Carolina (e.g., LCMHC, LCSW, LMFT, or Licensed Psychologist).
- Credentialing with insurance panels (or willingness to become credentialed) is preferred.
